Volunteer Program
Volunteer firefighters are an integral part of the Frenchtown Rural Fire District. The Department maintains a roster of volunteers who augment the ranks of the career personnel and assist with fire suppression, rescue services, emergency medical care, and fire prevention/education.
The Fire Department has three internal types of volunteers designed to allow individuals to match their skills and time with the needs of the Fire District. You do not need experience to apply for a volunteer position.
Traditional Volunteers
- Live in District
- Volunteer a minimum of 12 hours or run 5 calls.
- Responding to Station 1 to assist On-Duty crew with larger incidents or backfill
- Attend 2 out of 4 Tuesday night Trainings
Non-Traditional Volunteers
- Live outside of the District
- Volunteering a minimum hours of 24 hours a month
- Attend 3 out of 4 Tuesday night Trainings
- Responding to Station 1 to assist on-duty crew with larger incidents or backfill.
Support Volunteers
- Assist the district with duties such as, but not limited to:
- Station Maintenance
- Fire Prevention/Education
- Recruitment
- Public Events
