Volunteer Program

Frenchtown Rural Fire District offers a robust Volunteer Firefighter Program designed for individuals who want to serve their community while gaining valuable experience in firefighting and emergency services. Whether you’re looking to start a career in firefighting or give back to your community, the Volunteer Firefighter Program is a rewarding and impactful way to make a difference.

Resident Program

The Resident Firefighter Program is a unique and intensive training opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in firefighting and emergency services. Participants live at the fire station, respond to emergencies, and gain real-world experience while completing their education. Upon successful completion and graduation, 100% reimbursement of tuition and authorized expenses (books or required materials).

Career Firefighter

Local 4654 Career Firefighters are full-time district employees who deliver professional services in structural firefighting, wildland fire response, rescue operations, and emergency medical care. Additionally, they contribute to administrative tasks such as public education, fire prevention, member training, career development, and preventative health services.

Ride alongs are observational only and can be scheduled at any time before or after submitting your applications. If you have questions or would like to schedule your ride along, please contact FF/EMT Kyle Rauch at recruiting@frenchtownfire.org or 406-626-5791. Repeated ride alongs do not need to be 24 hours but should be at least 12 hours. If you’re scheduled for a ride along please arrive at Station 1 and check in with the Lieutenant between 0745 and 0800.

  • ALL requirements must be completed one month prior to onboarding
