Volunteer Resident Firefighter / EMT's live in one of four stations for a commitment of two years.  Most often, these residents are just starting out in their fire service careers and have little to no training.  May of these residents are full time students and also have jobs outside of the department.  Frenchtown Rural Fire District offers summertime jobs for most of the residents who wish to be involved in our fuel mitigation program.  As part of our department, resident volunteers receive full training necessary to do the job.  Some of the training includes Firefighter One,    EMT - Basic, Basic Enhanced, or Intermediate, Rescue, Haxmat, Wildland Fire and leadership training.  In exchange for room and board, residents are assigned to a rotating shift of one day on, two days off, with the option of swapping with other residents.  If you think you might be interested of joining our team, please contact Adriane Miller at amiller1@frenchtownfire.org or call (406) 626-5791.

Volunteers are also crucial to our department.  Volunteers live within the district boundaries and respond on shifts: one night a week and one weekend a month.  We currently have approximately 60 volunteers who support the local communities they live in.  Many of our volunteers commit over 200 hours a year to their community as a volunteer in a non-paid position. Volunteers are also provided the same opportunities for continuing education and training as the resident volunteer.  Firefighter one certification, Emergency Medical Technician training, Rescue training, Hazardous Materials as well as many other response training possibilities.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Adriane Miller at amiller1@frenchtownfire.org or call (406) 626-5791.

EMT - Basic : If you are interested in becoming an EMT-Basic, classes are offered once a year, in the Fall.  Please contact Jim at jburdick@frenchtownfire.org or (406) 626-5791

EMT - Enhanced class is almost complete.  Great job on all your hard work and accomplishments.  If you are interested, please contact Jim at jburdick@frenchtownfire.org or (406) 626-5791

QUARTERLY  CPR courses are now available.  Please contact Jim at jburdick@frenchtownfire.org or 626-5791 for an dates and time.
