Board of Trustees Five elected officials preside over the Frenchtown Rural Fire District as the Board of Trustees. Board members are elected in local elections, and serve for set terms. Board members are responsible for the oversight of the District in terms of policy, budgetary review, and taxation.

Chair — Ray Winn
Ray Winn has lived in Frenchtown since 1974. He went to school in Moise and Charlo, and graduated from the University of Montana in 1965. He became a pilot in the United States Navy, and flew on two cruises in Vietnam. Having flown for the Navy, Army, and various civilian airlines, he recently retired from United Airlines a few years ago. He still flies part-time for a couple of companies in Missoula. Ray has served on several local committees and boards, including the school board in Frenchtown. He and his wife have owned and operated a few businesses in Frenchtown, and have seen many changes in the community over the course of 35 years living up Houle Creek. He was elected to the Frenchtown Fire Board of Trustees in May, 2008.

The FRFD Board of Trustees generally meets on the second Monday of every month at 7pm in Station 1.

Vice Chair — Mary Alexander
Mary Alexander has been a Frenchtown resident for the past twenty-five years. She has served on various boards in this area and in Washington State, among them six years on the Frenchtown School Board (one as chair). Her interest in community concerns has been broad. she has been involved in many aspects of her community from county planning to education to information regarding a pipeline that was proposed to go through the Frenchtown, Six Mile and Nine Mile valleys. Her business experience includes fifteen years as a real estate broker operating her own company, as well as experience owning a feed store and an antiques business for ten years each. As a property owner she has a real interest in the use of fiscal responsibility in spending public funds, while maintaining adequate fire and emergency aid protection for the citizens and firefighters of this district. Mary was elected to the Frenchtown Fire Board of Trustees in May, 2009.

Trustee — Glenn Green
Glenn Green has been a business owner for nearly 40 years. He started out with a feed store and a convenience store before getting into various aspects of the the wholesale and retail grocery business. Since 1999 he has donated roughly 5000 pounds of food per year to local food banks. As a business owner, Glenn is very dedicated to fiscal responsibility, efficiency, government operations and taxpayer waste. He believes in transparency and an informed electorate, one where community members are involved and active, and communicate with elected officials about their wishes and concerns. Through his businesses Glenn has much one-on-one interaction with people, and he believes there is great potential for Frenchtown and its neighboring communities. Glenn is a military vet and served in Vietnam. He and his wife Sue have been married since 1969; they have two sons, a daughter-in-law and three grand children. He was elected to the Frenchtown Fire Board of Trustees in May, 2008.

Trustee — Jolene Sayler
Jolene has lived for more than 30 years in Huson, Montana. Along with her husband, she owned and operated the Huson Mercantile & Post Office for five years. Jolene and her daughter serve as support volunteers for the FRFD, promoting the use of high-visibility address signs, and checking and installing smoke detectors. As a trustee, Jolene is committed to creating and maintaining fiscally responsible policies, and believes in the importance of accountability across the board—from performance and equipment to training and overall safety. Jolene was elected to the Frenchtown Fire Board of Trustees in May, 2009.

Trustee — Mitchell Hicks
Mitchell Hicks has lived in the Petty Creek valley since 1990. He has worked for more than 30 years as an independent contractor in the construction industry, and he recently retired with 22 years of service as a combat engineer, first in the Army National Guard, then in the Air National Guard. Post-911, he deployed on several oversees tours in the Middle East and elsewhere. He was elected to the Frenchtown Fire Board of Trustees in May, 2007.
