Car Seat Safety
  • Frenchtown Rural Fire District has three certified safety seat technicians on staff. Give us a call, and we can make sure you have the right seat for your child, and that it is installed correctly.

    Vehicle crashes are one of the leading causes of death
    for children between 1 and 13 years old.

    Three out of every four car seats are not used correctly.

    Car seats saved the lives of an estimated 9,600 children age four and younger between 1975 and 2010.

Children and Car Safety
  • Never leave a child alone in the car. On an 80 degree day, the temperature inside of a car can rise 19 degrees in 10 minutes and keep getting hotter with each passing minute. - See more at:
  • Safe Kids is asking everyone to help protect kids by remembering to ACT:
  • A: Avoid heatstroke-related injury and death by never leaving your child alone in a car, not even for a minute. And make sure to keep your car locked when you're not in it so kids don't get in on their own.
  • C: Create reminders by putting something in the back of your car next to your child such as a briefcase, a purse or a cell phone that is needed at your final destination. This is especially important if you're not following your normal routine.
  • T: Take action. If you see a child alone in a car, call 911. Emergency personnel want you to call. They are trained to respond to these situations. One call could save a life. - See more at:
